August 31, 2007
Dear Friends and Family,
With fall just around the corner, we are thankful for the cooler weather. We were in eastern Kansas for most of the month of August and the temperature was close to or above 100 degrees nearly every day. We thank God for the changing seasons throughout the year.
Notes of praise:
- While we were in southeastern Missouri presenting our ministry, a teenage girl came forward and committed her life to deaf missions if that is what God has planned for her. It was good to see a girl who was tender to God’s leading. We are praying for her and we are waiting for God’s continued leading in her life.
- The ministry in Peru was not damaged by the major earthquake that hit down there recently. They did feel the quake and several of the aftershocks. The only problem was that they had some things fall off the walls. A few of the people from Efata took a trip down to the areas that were hit hard. They were able to help a pastor and his church start to get things back together. They are also hoping to be able to do more to help.
Prayer Request: Our oldest daughter has to go to the dentist several times in the next few weeks to get some fillings. This is a first for her and she is a little nervous. We praise God that He has provided the money to take care of all the dental work.
A quick thank you: I would like to take a quick moment to say thank you to all of you who replied to our last letter and said that we could send you our prayer letter by e-mail. If any of you are still interested in receiving e-mails you can either call me at (850) 375-3956 or e-mail me at corymelissa@aol.com.
We have had several meetings in Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma the past couple of months. It has been exciting to have a couple of churches that are just a year old take us on for support. We are thankful that there are still people who are burdened about starting churches and fulfilling the great commission by supporting missions. We are praying that God will continue to bless those churches and that they will grow both spiritually and numerically.
Please continue to pray that our support will be raised so that we can go to the field. Also please pray for the deaf. They need to know the Saviour.
Thank You for Your Faithful Prayers,
Cory, Melissa, Amanda, Elaina, and Olivia Ricker
